We are a well-established and growing company seeking a diligent Senior IT Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for installing or upgrading components, setting up software, assisting with network administration, and resolving all IT support issues.
To be successful as a Senior IT Specialist, you should have an in-depth knowledge of various computer hardware and software technologies. Qualified candidates will also have an amiable personality and an aptitude for customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide a high level of IT support for company staff.
  • Collaborate with and supports the production team to help optimize IT/OT integration for the smooth implementation of new technologies and equipment.
  • Manage IT Support Helpdesk and provide prompt on-premises and remote support for Windows, Mac, and IOS devices.
  • Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, and support specialists.
  • Manage, administer, and further develop existing support tools to rapidly resolve issues coworkers have with their IT systems and software.
  • Monitor and respond to Managed Security Service alerts.
  • Proactively maintain physical and virtual systems, including switches, routers, servers and printers
  • Proactively evaluate and maintain our IT systems and services to ensure they meet the necessary demands and research new tools and services that could benefit company
  • Assist with network administration tasks.
  • Managing on-site and off-site backup and recovery processes and documentation 
  • Collaborate with IT and Security Management to educate coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
  • Collaborate with IT management, Quality Document Control, and Legal to develop IT Department Policies, Procedures, and SOPs.
  • Prepares references for users by writing operating instructions.
  • Maintains historical records by documenting system changes and revisions.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains and demonstrates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and sharing such knowledge and skills with team members.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering
    or equivalent work-related experiences
  • Minimum of five years of experience in IT, Systems or Network administration
  • Experience working with following environments: Microsoft Windows 11 & Windows Server operating systems, Mac OS & iOS, Linux, Active Directory, Office 365 Apps, Network Storage, Azure, Cisco and Dell networking hardware, both physical and wireless. Administration of VMware vCenter/vSphere.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting various technical equipment such as laptops, video conferencing systems, mobiles, etc.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly using prompt and confident decision-making processes
  • Self-motivated, able to work in varying working conditions, individually as well as part of a team
  • Possesses an interest in continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage Active Directory, on-prem and Azure
  • High level of proficiency in networking knowledge
  • Able to efficiently present technical information to various audiences and parts of the organization
  • Able to communicate well (verbal and written) at all level of organization
  • High level of proficiency in resolving issues with Operating Systems
  • Able to leverage date to report information out to the organization
  • Able to build client relationships across the organization
  • Skilled at documenting processes for business-related use.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to corporate offices may be required.
Technical Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Windows Server operating systems, Mac OS & iOS, Linux, Active Directory, Office 365 Apps, Network Storage, Azure, Cisco and Dell networking. VMware VCSA and ESXi administration.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Java, etc.)
Office Hours/Location:
  • This position is based in Rocky Mount VA. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 pm. This is an onsite role. Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.
