Major Responsibilities
- Interact with both internal and external customers/partners to establish and deliver on their applications system development needs
- Provide expert level data related services (databases, data-warehouse, ETL, analytics, reporting, AI, etc.) in coordination with the existing data owners and DBAs along with attending the on-call support
- Assist in the identification, evaluation, selection, implementation and extension of packaged applications, SW libraries, application toolkits and full software life cycle tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to work closely with the functional departments, and comfortable taking ownership of the work in an agile environment
- Candidate must be able to work in the evening hours to overlap with business and IT development teams in Ciena US (East) offices. Ciena is flexible in allowing work from home to provide effective coverage.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Expert level skills in SQL Server database development using Microsoft Enterprise SQL server services (Transact SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL
- Expert level skills in ETL layer implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Comfortable with database administration concepts in Microsoft Enterprise SQL server environment
- Experience in PowerBI, Snowflake Datawarehouse, Databricks, etc.
- Experience in integration of AI and GAI technologies with data analysis and reporting platforms
- Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS):
- Azure BLOB storage, Azure Databases, Azure Data Factory, Azure Cognitive Services, etc.
- Azure DevOps, CICD, GIT, GITHUB, Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Any experience or exposure to Azure OpenAI, GAI will be a plus
- Familiarity with .Net Development of front-end (HTML and Javascript) and middle tier development using C#, Python, .net Core, Angular, etc. will be a plus
- Experience with Test-based Development using unit testing and end to end UI testing.
