Description:

Senior IT Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Mexico City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Senior IT Project Manager at Marsh, you will own end-to-end delivery for assigned workstreams — defining and maintaining plans, governance, budgets and resource allocations; managing cross-functional and vendor teams; mitigating risks; and ensuring measurable benefits realisation. Typical initiatives include in-house software development projects, AI initiatives, cloud, SaaS implementations and IT infrastructure projects. Delivery approaches will include Agile, Waterfall or hybrid lifecycle models.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead planning, governance and day-to-day delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships (business sponsors, regional IT, operations, vendors, global delivery teams); drive transparency and timely escalation.

  • Develop and maintain project artefacts: scope documents, schedules, resource plans, financials, risk and issue logs, dependency registers and change-control records.

  • Apply and enforce PMO methodology and best practices (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and ensure documentation and audit readiness.

  • Coordinate cross-project dependencies and integrate workstream plans with programme/portfolio timelines.

  • Track project financials and resource usage; prepare regular status and value-add reports for sponsors and steering committees.

  • Lead vendor/third-party management: contract and SLA negotiation, performance monitoring and issue resolution.

  • Define business value and benefits; develop and execute benefits-realisation and adoption plans.

  • Facilitate governance and delivery meetings, drive decisions, and ensure actions are captured and followed up.

  • Coach and motivate delivery teams; identify training and skills gaps and support continuous improvement.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related discipline — or equivalent experience.

  • 5-10+ years’ experience delivering IT projects/programmes with demonstrable end-to-end delivery of medium to large-scale initiatives.

  • Proven experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Waterfall and hybrid delivery models.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence at all levels.

  • Experience managing project financials, resource plans and dependencies across multiple teams.

  • Track record of working with vendors in matrixed, multi-vendor environments.

  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

What makes you stand out:

  • PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile/Scrum Master or equivalent certification.

  • Experience in insurance, broking or financial services projects preferred.

  • Experience delivering AI, cloud (AWS/Azure) or SaaS solutions and familiarity with application architectures, databases and integrations.

  • Proven ability to lead benefits-realisation and change-adoption activities.

Why join our team

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.

  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
