Together, you’ll help our customers get the high-quality gear they need to make the most of their adventures. We are BUILT FOR THE WILD™.

About the Role

YETI is seeking a Senior IT Project and Portfolio Manager to partner with diverse Technology teams across the organization as we implement and operate bestinclass program and project management practices.

This role will lead and deliver large, complex Information Technology initiatives and will be directly accountable for key project, program, portfolio, adoption, and business outcomes. The Senior IT Project and Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional technology programs that span multiple workstreams, systems, data platforms, enterprise capabilities, and business stakeholders. Operating with a high degree of autonomy and influence, this role translates strategic objectives into executable delivery plans, capability-based roadmaps, and measurable outcomes while ensuring alignment with YETI’s business priorities.

The ideal candidate is an experienced IT leader who brings a rare combination of portfolio and program management depth, enterprise architecture perspective, product-oriented operating model experience, and hands-on technical fluency. They are comfortable moving between strategy and execution—organizing work around business capabilities, value chains, measurable outcomes, and multi-year roadmaps while influencing senior stakeholders and delivery teams in a fast-paced, brand-driven environment.

They bring credible experience in at least one area of technical solutioning—such as software engineering, enterprise applications, data platforms, integration, cloud-based capabilities, API-first architecture, or system administration—enabling effective partnership with engineering, architecture, product, data, and technology teams.

We are looking for a team member with eight or more years of experience working within program, project, portfolio, product, engineering, enterprise architecture, or technology leadership roles. An Agile mindset is essential, along with demonstrated competency in traditional waterfall project management methodologies. The successful candidate will closely partner with Information Technology teams and business stakeholders, actively contribute to the continuous improvement of YETI’s delivery frameworks, tools, and methodologies, and help teams adopt iterative planning, common delivery rhythms, transparent decision-making, outcome-based portfolio practices, and durable change across teams.

What You'll Do

  • Lead largescale, multiyear IT programs and highly complex projects involving multiple teams, vendors, and business functions

  • Own endtoend delivery accountability, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality

  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, dependencies, milestones, and critical paths

  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and tradeoffs; escalate with clear options and recommendations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior business and technology stakeholders

  • Facilitate executive level steering meetings, status reviews, and decision forums

  • Translate business strategy into actionable delivery roadmaps, capability-based plans, value-chain outcomes, and measurable business results

  • Lead portfolio planning and governance processes that align IT spend, resources, sequencing, and prioritization to enterprise strategy, business capabilities, and value realization

  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-range technology roadmaps that connect initiative delivery to capability maturity, product evolution, platform modernization, and business value realization

  • Drive organizational change by helping teams adopt new planning models, product-oriented operating practices, governance routines, tools, data platforms, and common ways of working

  • Apply and continuously improve YETI’s IT PMO delivery frameworks, tools, and governance standards

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise policies related to security, data, architecture, and change management

  • Partner with architecture, engineering, data, security, and business teams to evaluate solution dependencies, integration impacts, technical risks, and platform readiness

  • Partner with data and platform teams to advance modern data capabilities, including data lake, visualization, integration and API-first access

  • Mentor and coach project managers on best practices, risk management, and stakeholder communication

  • Drive lessons learned, retrospectives, and delivery maturity improvements

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve transparency, and accelerate time to value

  • Champion product-oriented, Agile, DevOps, and data-informed delivery practices that improve ownership, transparency, accountability, and speed to value

  • Bring a pragmatic builder mindset, with the ability to understand how systems, platforms, processes, and teams need to evolve together to deliver sustainable business outcomes

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or equivalent experience required

  • 10+ years of experience managing enterprise-level IT programs, portfolios, product-oriented delivery models, enterprise architecture initiatives, or technology transformation efforts within a PMO or IT leadership function

  • Strong command of Agile, Waterfall, iterative planning, and product-oriented delivery practices, with experience helping teams adopt common planning cycles and delivery rhythms

  • PMP®, Six Sigma, or similar certification

  • Experience in Retail, Supply Chain, or Consumer Goods preferred

  • Technical fluency across enterprise applications, software engineering, integration solutions, cloud-based data platforms, data visualization, data lifecycle management, API-first architecture, or related technology domains

  • Experience with project and portfolio management tools (Asana, Jira, Azure DevOps)

  • Experience developing intake, prioritization, governance, funding alignment, and roadmap planning processes across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons

  • Ability to organize work around business capabilities, value chains, measurable outcomes, and enterprise priorities rather than projects alone

  • Experience establishing or evolving IT product management practices, capability-based portfolios, and value-chain-aligned planning models preferred

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, engineering teams, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication, structured decision-making, and outcome-focused recommendations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead global or distributed technology teams, partner across business, product, engineering, architecture, and data functions, and build credibility through both strategic leadership and practical technical understanding

  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, including stakeholder alignment, change impact assessment, communications, readiness planning, adoption support, resistance management, and transition to new operating models; familiarity with Prosci or similar frameworks preferred

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • A collaborative, builder-oriented mindset with a passion for knowledge sharing, coaching, continuous improvement, and scaling new ways of working

  • Based in Austin, TX at our HQ off Southwest Parkway. If you are not local, you must be willing to relocate.

  • We are onsite Monday-Thursday, and remote on Friday
