Job Overview:
McDermott is seeking an experienced Senior IT Pillar Specialist to support and manage the HR Blizz Cloud Payroll platform utilized across 20+ countries. This role will serve as a key liaison between Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, system stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of payroll-related applications.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll calculations, statutory requirements, ERP payroll systems, and payroll-related data integrations. Experience with HR Blizz Payroll is highly preferred.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:
Payroll Application Support
- Provide day-to-day support for the HR Blizz Cloud Payroll application across multiple countries.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll processing and system-related issues.
- Monitor payroll runs and ensure successful execution of payroll cycles.
- Support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution during payroll processing periods.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for defect resolution and system enhancements.
Functional & Technical Support
- Analyze payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, retro processing, and statutory calculations.
- Validate payroll configurations, pay elements, formulas, calculations, and system outputs.
- Support payroll-related interfaces, integrations, and data validation activities.
- Participate in application testing, regression testing, UAT, and production deployments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and regional business teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Provide guidance on payroll system functionality, best practices, and process improvements.
- Assist with audits, compliance activities, and payroll controls.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payroll processes.
- Develop and maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and process guides.
- Support global payroll transformation initiatives and new country implementations.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting payroll applications or payroll operations.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country payroll environments.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll calculations, statutory requirements, and payroll controls.
- Experience with ERP or Cloud payroll systems and Oracle HCM Cloud
Technical Knowledge
- Payroll calculations and processing logic.
- Earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and retroactive adjustments.
- Payroll interfaces, integrations, and reporting.
- Data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- SQL and reporting experience is a plus.
