Senior IT Network Specialist – Veghel
About the Role
As a Senior IT Network Specialist, you will play a key role within the Agile Network Product Team, part of the ICT Core domain. Working in a DevOps environment, you will collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Architects, and Engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions for more than 50 global offices, including our headquarters in the Netherlands.
Your Responsibilities
In this senior position, you will take the lead within the agile team, co-owning the network product roadmap alongside the Product Owner and Product Architect. You will contribute to the design and delivery of network-related epics and features within the Agile Release Train (ART).
You will review and refine both high- and low-level network architectures, focusing on security (Zero-Trust, NIS2, ISO27001), performance, and user experience. A strong emphasis will be placed on automation and continuous improvement, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code with tools such as Terraform, AWX Ansible, Python, and the Atlassian developer suite.
Working closely with stakeholders across ICT and business domains, you will translate use cases into secure and efficient network solutions. You will act as a technical escalation point, liaise with vendors on complex issues, and ensure effective knowledge sharing and documentation within the team and towards first- and second-line support teams.
Key Activities
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our global network infrastructure performs at its best. You will continuously monitor and optimize network availability and performance, ensuring reliability across all sites. When complex changes or critical incidents arise, you will take the lead in executing solutions efficiently and effectively.
As an active member of the agile team, you will contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other agile ceremonies, ensuring that network priorities align with overall business objectives. Collaboration is at the heart of this role — you will work closely with other teams within the ICT Agile Release Train to maintain strong alignment and deliver cohesive solutions.
Beyond operational excellence, you will also design and develop network solutions that meet evolving business requirements while complying with all relevant security standards and policies.
To achieve this, you will work with a broad range of modern network and security technologies. Our environment includes Aruba CX for switching, routing, EVPN, VXLAN, and BGP, as well as Aruba Wireless and Aruba ClearPass for secure connectivity. You will also work with Check Point firewalling, F5 Application Delivery Controllers, and various WAN technologies such as Internet, IPsec VPN, and SD-WAN. Automation is a key part of your work, leveraging tools like NetBox, AWX Ansible, Terraform, and Python to drive efficiency and consistency across our infrastructure.
Your Profile
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT (or equivalent) and are fluent in both English and Dutch, spoken and written. With 8+ years of experience in IT networking, you bring strong technical expertise (see above), communication skills, and the ability to influence across teams.
You have experience working in global enterprise environments and thrive in settings where IT and business collaboration is key. Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and product team dynamics is highly valued.
