About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Manager, Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations, to lead the strategy, execution, and day-to-day management of our enterprise technology infrastructure across multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and modernization of our technology environment. The successful candidate will drive infrastructure transformation initiatives, cloud adoption, cybersecurity programs, operational technology (OT) integration, and enterprise service delivery while leading a team of infrastructure professionals and strategic service providers.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with deep technical expertise and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where they can influence technology strategy and business outcomes.  This hybrid role will require a presence at our Houston Spenwick facility for four to five days during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Leadership and Strategy - 

  • Develop and execute the enterprise infrastructure roadmap to support business growth, manufacturing modernization, acquisitions, cybersecurity initiatives, and cloud transformation.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including system installations, upgrades, hardware refreshes, migrations, and technology retirements.
  • Drive cloud adoption initiatives, including migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure and Entra ID.
  • Evaluate and recommend on-premises, hosted, outsourced, and cloud-based solutions to improve service delivery, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage data center, server, storage, networking, telecommunications, and enterprise operations environments.

Operational Excellence:

  • Provide leadership for enterprise infrastructure operations, ensuring high availability and performance of critical business systems.
  • Serve as an escalation point for major incidents and lead root cause analysis efforts.
  • Partner with technology teams to strengthen disaster recovery, business continuity, capacity planning, change management, and security practices.
  • Oversee 24x7 support operations and managed service provider (MSP) relationships.
  • Establish and monitor service levels, performance metrics, scorecards, and vendor accountability.

Cybersecurity & OT Integration - 

  • Lead infrastructure-related cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability management, patching, monitoring, and remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and internal stakeholders to enhance security posture.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to support connectivity between enterprise IT systems and manufacturing/OT environments.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of infrastructure professionals, including Server Administrators, Help Desk personnel, and external service providers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Conduct performance management, talent development planning, and succession planning activities.
  • Define departmental goals and align individual objectives with broader business priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure and operations.
  • Proven experience developing and executing infrastructure strategies that support business growth and digital transformation.
  • Strong experience managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs), including SLA management, performance reviews, and escalation processes.
  • Hands-on leadership experience with:
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • Active Directory & Entra ID
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Intune
    • SQL Server
    • Oracle
    • Hyper-V
    • RDS
    • SD-WAN
    • Server clustering technologies
  • Experience leading enterprise migrations from on-premises environments to cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing major outage events and disaster recovery activities.
  • Strong knowledge of change management, infrastructure governance, and IT service management best practices.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
