We’re looking for a Senior IT Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our Information Systems team at MBPS. In this role, you will support the business and technology teams in complying with organizational and regulatory guidelines and best practices towards enhancing the resilience of technology systems and infrastructure. Activities will support the continuity of critical business operations. The role will also participate in key projects and initiatives ensuring information risk is always considered and managed.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the Group Functions Technology (GFT) contact for disaster recovery requirements in Asia.
  • Work with IT, Business Continuity and Project Management colleagues and vendors to ensure the required technical assets are resilient and systems are built with DR requirements embedded.  You’ll be a DR Subject Matter Expert on projects that utilize various project management methodologies and current technologies.
  • Lead and guide with the design of appropriate DR strategies or high availability configurations.
  • Consult squads on the proper development and documentation of plans, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities necessary to recover or prove resiliency for required business applications and services.
  • Coordinate DR test planning, execution and reporting with technology partners
  • Provide expert consultation to support the GFT segment in identifying and evaluating strategic options for recovering business applications and related services.
  • Work with Segment Risk Teams globally to identify areas of program improvement and drive execution through special projects and general working sessions
  • Work with the Segment Risk Teams globally in the development of related DR policies and standards; perform segment gap analyses and work with business teams and technical teams to implement policies and processes throughout the segment.
  • Support Second line, Audit or external parties as needed for evidence collection
  • Amenable to work UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)
  • Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
  • Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (mid shift – up to 3 hours in North American (Eastern Time) time zone; but flexible depending on business need)
  • Amenable to work on a weekend as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of progressive experience in Disaster Recovery planning and testing in a large complex organization strongly preferred; and demonstrated knowledge of best practices and industry standards
  • Strong personal computing skills (MS Office) and familiarity with BCM/DR Planning tools and/or relational databases (e.g., Fusion Risk Management, Archer, PowerBI).
  • Require a self-motivated, critical objective thinker who can demonstrate follow-through and resourcefulness to achieve value added outcomes.
  • Demonstrate ability to see the big picture to drive efficiencies and develop new strategies
  • Possess a working technical knowledge of systems (client/server), networking (LAN/WAN), storage, resiliency configuration options and data replication methods
  • Experience with cloud-based architecture and industry standard recovery solutions
  • Achievement oriented with proven project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and comply with DR standard and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with senior engineers in designing/validating recovery solutions
  • Ability to understand technical network and data flow
  • Proven ability to build relationships, engage and influence others, work with a diverse internal and international user community, as well as vendors.
  • University Degree (Computer Science, Business or Finance preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including presentation skills and demonstrated ability to present at all organizational levels; includes ability to develop and deliver effective user education sessions to squads as needed
  • Professional certification in BCM/DR – MBCI, CBCP or MBCP preferred but not required
  • Financial Services industry experience
