Senior IP Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior IP Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of complex IP networks across telecommunications and enterprise environments. The role requires extensive expertise in IP routing technologies, network architecture, solution design, and technical leadership. The successful candidate will lead medium to large-scale network deployment projects, troubleshoot complex network issues, and work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality ICT infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance IP network architectures for telecommunications and enterprise customers.

• Lead network planning, solution design, and technical consultations based on customer business and technical requirements.

• Design and implement IP networks involving more than 100 network elements (NEs).

• Develop detailed High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), implementation plans, and technical documentation.

• Lead the clarification of customer requirements and translate them into executable technical solutions.

• Configure, deploy, test, and optimize IP network infrastructure.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex IP network faults, ensuring minimal service disruption.

• Perform network performance analysis, optimization, and capacity planning.

• Implement and maintain routing protocols and technologies including: MPLS, Segment Routing IPv6 (SRv6), IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN Technologies

• Support data center, enterprise, and access network deployments.

• Lead project implementation teams as Technical Lead (TL) and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.

• Coordinate with project managers, solution architects, customer technical teams, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct technical knowledge transfer and mentor junior network engineers.

• Prepare technical reports, implementation documents, acceptance reports, and project closure documentation.

• Ensure compliance with industry best practices, customer standards, and organizational quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

• A Master's degree will be an added advantage.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the telecommunications or ICT industry.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Network/IP Engineer delivering medium to large-scale network projects.

• Proven experience designing and implementing complex IP networks involving more than 100 network elements.

• Experience leading technical implementation teams on enterprise or telecom infrastructure projects.

• Experience working on projects within the financial services sector will be highly preferred.

• Experience in cloud computing, enterprise computing, AI infrastructure, or digital transformation projects will be an added advantage.

• Experience with enterprise networks, access networks and data center network deployments is highly desirable.
