Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to lead the development, maintenance, support, and performance optimization of iOS apps for Goodyear’s Proactive Solutions, integrated with the Fleethub AWS backend. You’ll own complex features, enforce engineering best practices, and partner closely with AWS Developers, Web Developers, QA, and DevSecOps to deliver secure, scalable, and user‑centric mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities
App Architecture & Development
- Design and implement high‑quality iOS features and modules using Swift (UIKit and/or SwiftUI).
- Build resilient REST API integrations with secure networking, efficient data handling, JSON handling, and robust error/retry patterns.
- Apply clean, modern architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM/Clean/Coordinator), modularization, and testability.
Quality, Observability & Security
- Drive unit/UI test coverage (XCTest, XCUITest); partner with QA Engineers on test coverage and quality gates.
- Profile and optimize performance, memory, and battery
- Enforce mobile security best practices (Keychain, ATS/HTTPS/TLS, secure storage, cert pinning).
- Ensure full support, high availability and business continuity for the business-critical iOS apps
Delivery & Collaboration
- Collaborate with AWS Developers on API contracts and with Web Developers on cohesive UX flows.
- Integrate with CI/CD (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions/Bitrise) for automated builds, tests, and TestFlight distributions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies with the Technical Lead / Scrum Master; provide estimates, status, and risk mitigations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert proficiency in Swift and iOS SDKs; UIKit and/or SwiftUI; concurrency (GCD/Operations/Async‑Await).
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs; JSON handling; offline/cache strategies.
- Solid command of testing (XCTest/XCUITest), debugging, and profiling.
- Git, code review practices, and Agile/Scrum experience.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and problem‑solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fastlane, SPM/CocoaPods, TestFlight/App Store Connect, feature flags, analytics, Crashlytics (or similar).
- Combine, Core Data/Realm, background tasks, push notifications, deep links, and accessibility.
- Familiarity with OWASP MASVS principles for mobile security.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years total experience with 5+ years focused on iOS.
