As a fundamental pillar of the platform, Personalization works to provide a tailor-made experience for each of our users to make their ordering process simpler and smoother.
The team is responsible for two key areas:
- Key Data Capturing: Capture user behaviors and selections as an input to data-driven decisions.
- Provide a magical and unique user experience: using the data captured, transform it into a custom-made user experience that drives our users into a simpler selection by finding the right thing at the right moment in the different stages of the order placement process.
By combining a strong user experience focus with backend robustness, Personalization is key team as it works as an enabler for multiple teams, ensuring operational stability across the platform.
The roleAs a Senior iOS Engineer, you'll report to your Personalization Engineering Manager. You'll work closely together with other squad members participating in an agile software development process. You'll work closely with your team to create and execute your roadmap. You'll be supported by other product development squads and other CookUnity business functions. You will also interact with other squads working on other functionalities of the platform but also doing iOS development. This is a full-time position.
As part of a cross-functional team, you will collaborate closely with product managers, mobile/web engineers, and designers to create a top-tier experience for the mobile users. This is a great opportunity for a senior engineer eager to work on challenging technical problems while contributing to customer-facing products that directly impact user engagement and satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Support the entire mobile application lifecycle (concept, design, test, and release) in a fast-paced environment.
- Work alongside Product & UX team's to build high-quality experiences.
- Help estimate, plan and execute new features and integrations.
- Understanding end-user requirements and use cases and translating them into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.
- Advocate for optimized practices across the engineering organization.
- Participate in the code reviews to help other team members identify improvement opportunities
- Improve monitoring, observability, and logging for backend services
- Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions, contributing to technical best practices
- Proficient in Swift, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
- Knowledge of and practical experience with iOS design patterns, coding, and testing.
- Proven experience with React Native and its ecosystem.
- Understanding of Apple's human interface design guidelines and ability to create exciting UI/UX design. Any SwiftUI Experience is a plus!
- Experience with Git or equivalent version control systems.
- Experience working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and optimizing queries
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for backend services and APIs
- Experience working with A/B testing.
- Advanced English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Experience developing apps for the US market. E-commerce/consumer-facing app development is a big plus!
- Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.
- Prior experience working on (or with) established design systems.
- Solid understanding of performance optimization, caching, and API response efficiency
- Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog and logging frameworks.
- Proficiency with leveraging AI Coding tools in day to day development (Cursor, Windsurf, or similar).
