About JM Family Investments Department: The mission of the Investments Department is to responsibly manage JM Family's investable assets through adherence to a rigorous process, building strong relationships, and promoting an intellectually stimulating collegial environment to ensure long-term value creation for all JM Family Stakeholders.
General Duties: Under the guidance of the Director of Investments, the candidate will be an integral part of the Investments Team and responsible for the core investment financial information leveraged across the finance departments. The position will primarily focus on managing the liquidity and cash forecasting model of the corporate investment portfolio and integration with key business partners such as Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Treasury. Primary responsibilities will include delivery of the investment business unit performance and financial results, forecast implications and strategic decision making.
The Senior Investment Financial Planning Analyst role is a newly created position that will be a key addition to our investment forecasting and analysis workstream.
Responsibilities:

Maintain comprehensive cash forecasting and liquidity model which incorporates funding, redemption, reporting and other requests from key stakeholders (including Tax, Treasury and FP&A)

Implement liquidity stress testing procedures and scenarios to assess and mitigate risks

Create, maintain and distribute weekly dashboards and reports to CIO, Treasurer, and Director(s) of Investments with respect to the liquidity model forecast and actual results. Identify trends and determine impact to forecast.

Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards and reporting solutions

Analyze investment data, valuations and cash flow data for trends and impacts to investment values and P&L activity

Analyze actual results to identify trends and monitor variances to the prior year, budget and forecast, and make insightful recommendations based on observed analysis

Work with company business units to prepare cash forecasts and other projection models; coordinate with teams to identify and mitigate forecasting variances

Continuously improve financial models and reporting solutions by studying and proposing changes in methods and materials
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with progress towards the CFA or CPA a plus

3-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis or related field, preferably at a financial institution

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills

High level of proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint, with preferred experience using Power BI

Thorough understanding of financial analysis; strong analytical skills; curious mindset; and ability to investigate ambiguous finance / data questions

Familiarity and working knowledge of IRR, NPV, Discounted Cash Flow, and their application in financial models

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability or desire to develop the ability to author and deliver presentations to senior management

Ability to take ownership of processes, including introducing automation and other workflow improvements
