Senior Investment Data Analyst

The Role

The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, and portfolio data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations.  Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data).

The Senior Investment Data Analyst will perform critical functions to support daily operations in support of Private Market data.  Including investment entity set-up for the respective trading desks, perform detailed data analysis, identify and resolve data issues and manage a repository of private market documents.  Quality, accuracy, and timeliness are critical to the success of this function.

 This position emphasizes Operations; it is not a Technology role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance or related field
• 5-7 years’ experience working in an Operations and/or Business Analysis role
• Financial Services Industry experience working with Private Market reference data preferred
• Experienced in managing projects in an agile environment
• Team player who takes initiative and thinks across Fidelity
• Experience with content management systems (i.e. Sharepoint, DocuShare, Nuxeo, etc) preferred
• Able to interact with vendors, clients and end users of the data
• Exhibited skills in problem identification and resolution
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Solid oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organizational and project management skills to navigate through high volume setting with tight deadlines　
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, management and other business partners
• Familiar with alternative investments, including private equity, real estate, private credit, hedge funds and other non-traditional investments
• Strong analytical skills to categorize information logically and define metadata
• Strong learning agility to quickly understand and connect key concepts and dependencies
• Participate in Operations projects/initiatives involving multiple business partners and provide subject matter expertise
• Liaise with customer, business partners, and systems to translate business requirements into data requirements, evaluating and recommending data solutions
• Mentors and guides junior associates on analysis and operational activities
• Participates in new product forums and works to stay apprised of Finance industry news and market trends

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
