Job Description:Leads, performs and manages a wide variety of complex and high-profile internal audit engagements in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditor’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). Identifies control weaknesses, risks, non-compliance with organizational policies/laws/regulations, and opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. Responsible for efficiently executing all phases of engagements with minimal direction, including developing comprehensive effective engagement programs, testing controls, developing practical recommendations, preparing well written, concise reports, garnering management support and management responses and conducting follow-up activities. Responsible for reviewing workpapers, audit reports and mentoring team members. Works collaboratively with multiple levels of management while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Education Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

Leading and executing audits of IT programs, such as:

  • Vulnerability Management Program
  • Cybersecurity Risk Management Program
  • Cybersecurity Incident Response & Recovery Program
  • Identity and Access Management Program
  • Third Party Vendor Risk Management Program

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of internal audit or equivalent related experience for Senior
  • Proficient understanding of internal controls, internal auditing and the IPPF
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous public accounting firm audit experience
  • Healthcare and information technology and information security internal audit experience
  • Knowledge of information technology and security infrastructure, frameworks and governance

Remote Nature:

  • This position will work remotely, but preference may be given to candidates residing within 50 miles of Essentia Health’s service area who have the ability to come onsite as needed for audits

Other Details:

  • Candidates with all levels of audit experience are encouraged to apply. While preference will be given to candidates with experience aligning with the Senior Internal Audit level, the hiring team is open varying experience levels
