L.L.Bean is currently searching for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Audit team. This is a hybrid position, working three days onsite and two remotely, based at our corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine. This role is critical in the development and maintenance of an effective internal control environment at L.L.Bean. Planning, organizing, conducting and formally reporting on audit assignments are key to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of company operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute concurrent audits and tests of internal controls with limited supervision.

    • Conduct effective audit planning - develop preliminary scope and objectives, develop time budget and audit steps, identify potential audit risks and meet with the business area to review the process.

    • Develop recommendations to address control weaknesses or process inefficiencies ensuring that each recommendation is aligned with and supported by the level of risk identified.

    • Present audit results in an objective, unbiased, clear manner and escalate significant risks timely to appropriate levels of management.

    • Prepare a professional, well-documented audit report at the conclusion of every audit engagement.

    • Coordinate and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables.

    • Provide planning and testing support for the annual external audits.

    • Assist in the identification and prioritization of audit risk areas during the development of the annual audit plan.

    • Develop and maintain business relationships with leadership in assigned business areas.

    • Assume additional related responsibilities as requested.

Education Level: 4-Year Bachelors Degree

Years of Experience: 5+ years of audit, financial, or relevant consulting experience

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • BA/BS required, with preference to Management, Accounting, Finance, IT or other related field

  • 5+ years of audit, financial or relevant consulting experience

  • Certification: CPA, CIA or CISA

  • Advanced MS Office Skills. Experience with SAP, Manhattan, Workday, SQL is preferred

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines

  • Strong business acumen and ability to navigate complex concepts, showing professional curiosity
