Project Delivery

The Project Delivery team is responsible for the management of delivering Data Centers from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, Development, and Engineering along the way.  Project Delivery also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget.  Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight.  One thing that distinguishes Vantage Data Centers is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process.  When compared to external resources, our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals.  This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Overview

As the Integration Manager of Automation Systems (AS), Project Delivery, APAC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction and execution of Vantage Data Centers’ Automation Systems across active construction projects. You will lead a team of skilled BMS architects, SCADA designers, and PLC/Controls developers to deliver robust and scalable Building Management solutions that are integrated seamlessly into the construction lifecycle—from design through commissioning.

You will be responsible for translating automation strategies into executable field solutions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, and driving innovation that enhances operational readiness and site reliability. Your leadership will directly impact the success of hyperscale data center builds across APAC, aligning automation capabilities with project delivery goals, budget constraints, and construction schedules.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Execution Leadership:

• Define and drive the execution strategy for BMS and SCADA integration across APAC construction projects, ensuring alignment with global standards and delivery timelines.
• Lead the integration of automation systems into live construction environments, balancing innovation with practical execution.

Team Management, Coordination and Delivery Oversight:

• Coordinate with regional delivery teams, contractors, and system integrators (SIs) to ensure timely and quality implementation of automation systems.
• Support cross-functional collaboration between design, construction, and commissioning teams to streamline automation deployment.

Applied Architecture and Field Implementation:

• Translate architectural designs into executable field solutions, ensuring constructability and compliance with site-specific constraints.
• Oversee the deployment of automation hardware and software in coordination with site teams and vendors.

Construction-Driven Development Oversight:

• Provide technical oversight to ensure automation systems are installed and commissioned according to project schedules.
• Work closely with SIs to resolve field-level issues and ensure system readiness for commissioning. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and project timelines.
• Proficiency in one or more of the SCADA platforms

Stakeholder Engagement and Site Integration:

• Engage with VDC design managers, construction managers, commissioning leads, and operations to align automation deliverables with project milestones.
• Facilitate technical workshops and site reviews to ensure stakeholder alignment and readiness. Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their build requirements and provide technical expertise.

Compliance and Execution Standards:

• Enforce execution standards and acceptance criteria for automation systems during construction and commissioning phases.
• Develop scorecards and punch lists to assess SI performance and system readiness. Take the applied design to an execution/implementation path, simplifying process and managing costs.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Ignition SCADA systems.
• Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies to enhance system capabilities.
• Liase with VDC D+E to enhance VDC designs for future implementation

Quality Assurance:

• Implement QA/QC processes tailored to construction environments, including FAT/SAT protocols and commissioning scripts.
• Ensure automation systems meet operational and reliability benchmarks before handover. Establish testing methodologies to validate system performance and functionality.

Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate risks related to automation system integration during construction and commissioning.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues impacting delivery timelines. Implement proactive measures to address existing and potential customer SLA challenges.

Duties

• Assist in negotiating and management of SI contracts with a focus on delivery timelines, site readiness, and commissioning support.
• Collaborate with Construction, Commissioning, and Operations to ensure seamless integration of automation systems into the built environment.
• Support continuous improvement in applied automation design by capturing lessons learned from field execution.
• Support site teams in resolving BMS-related challenges during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Deliver large-scale automation projects on time and within budget, with a strong focus on construction execution and stakeholder coordination.

Job Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in delivering Industrial/Plant/Data Center Automation solutions, with a strong emphasis on construction execution and commissioning.
• experience of architecting end-to-end IoT applications on the Ignition Platform, including field deployment and integration with construction workflows.
• Proven experience in site-based client interactions, especially with key stakeholders such as VP/SVP of Construction, Operations, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• proficient in all Ignition Modules (Alarm, EAM, Device Driver, Tag Historian, DB Management, MQTT, etc.) and their application in live construction environments.
• Expertise in Ignition architecture, licensing schemes, Python scripting, and reporting, with practical experience in field commissioning and validation.
• Hands-on experience in large-scale HMI, MES, and SCADA systems, with a focus on construction-phase implementation and testing.
• Strong knowledge of on-premises Ignition SCADA network architecture, including troubleshooting during site deployment and commissioning.
• Familiarity with device interfaces like OPC UA, Modbus, DNP, MQTT, and their integration into construction-ready automation systems.
• Ability to advise developers on PLC logic and programming, especially in the context of field execution and high-level controls integration.
• Willingness to travel extensively (45–60%) for site-based project phases, including installation, testing, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven leadership in automation architecture and development teams, with a track record of delivering construction-integrated SCADA systems.
