Section 1: Position Summary
Effectively manage projects demonstrating the ability to understand the technical aspects of the business, organize, create and execute project plans, and manage scope, timing and deliverables of the project with successful results. Requires highly refined analytical, communication, facilitation skills, strategic thinking, project management and leadership abilities.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior management to develop metrics dashboard to better measure operational and financial performance.
- Work closely with senior management to develop and maintain key performance indicators.
- Assist with collection of periodic client data for management metrics reporting.
- Work with key managers to improve the collection, storage and usage of client data in conjunction with IT.
- Identify and execute improvements to automate, streamline and enhance current processes that involve data usage in BOLI / COLI and across the business.
- Partner with IT on system integration projects.
- Assist with database projects including but not limited to DCA, Oracle and Chorus.
- Assist with client vendor management process across Newport.
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses as needed to support Senior Management decision making.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and implementation of solutions.
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of project management experience within the financial services, recordkeeping or similar field of work preferred. Application of agile methodologies required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (knowledge of Chorus, Salesforce and / or Dynamic CRM is a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to lead large-scale initiatives through collaboration with internal & external clients and vendors.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills.
- Demonstration of empathy, flexibility, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Strong ability to work in a time sensitive environment while managing multiple, large-scale initiatives.
- Familiar with insurance concepts, practices and procedures.
- Must be able to apply understanding of the business to identify risks and proactively work to resolve issues from a business, process and system perspective. Ability to work through the financial and technical implications to find optimal solutions.
- Ability to critically think and add value while being responsive to associates, carriers, partners, consultants and/or clients.
- Must take ownership and initiative to ensure expectations are met, including follow through, follow up, and understanding when and how to involve others.
