Job Description:
As a Managing Consultant supporting our Federal government client, you will work as part of an innovative team to research, prepare, and deliver high-quality solutions. You will be trusted to complete tasks independently, begin leading others in completing tasks, and contribute to the overall team effort to solve challenging problems for the benefit of our customers.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Thought-leader on learning experience design best practices for adult learners
- Conduct research to understand requirements, client’s needs. Research methodologies could include customer research/stakeholder interviews, focus groups, workshopping/training concept generation, co-collaborative workshops, data analysis, prototype development and testing
- Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze requirements
- Lead curriculum development using the ADDIE method, facilitate customer validation and testing, pilot plans, course evaluations, train-the-trainer content, and continuously improve curriculum based on feedback from clients and evaluations
- Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners
- Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements
- Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum
- Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks.
- Writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs
- Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training
- Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness
- May coach trainers
- Understand recent technological developments, tools, and advancements and how they are utilized across our client’s organization and enterprise. Gauge how our clients’ technology supports and enables their mission. Recommend improved uses these and new technologies to achieve desired business outcome
- Have the personality and demeanor to quickly build rapport with diverse stakeholders and research participants, both in-person and remotely. People warm to you quickly, enabling them to engage in rich and natural conversations with you.You skillfully probe beyond their first response and can uncover deeper underlying insights, motivations
- Excellent communication skills, experience facilitating training in person and online
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in instructional design or related field
- 10+ years of relevant, professional experience
- Knowledge of Human-Centered Design/Design Thinking, employee experience, customer experience, and/or service design
- Curious and open-minded approach to work
- Thrive in a continuous Build-Measure-Learn cycle
- Engage with technology—with comfort and ease (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Monday, Slack, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Human-Centered Design, design thinking, and/or service design background
- Experience consulting for the Federal government
Job Location and Travel Expectations:
- This position is remote. Some travel (25%) is anticipated.
- Some meetings will be conducted on-site with customers in Washington, D.C.
