As the Senior Operations Analyst, Instructional Designer you will lead the strategy, creation, maintenance, and iteration of our engineering onboarding, broader learning programs, and the governance of Engineering intranet.
In the role of Senior Operations Analyst, Instructional Designer you will report to the Senior Engineering Operations Manager.
We are considering applicants for the location(s) of San Francisco and Los Angeles. We work a hybrid schedule, in office three days a week; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Primary Responsibilities- You will lead engineering onboarding programs and engineering learning experiences.
- You will lead needs analysis, curriculum, delivery, and iterative improvement for engineering new-hire ramp and role-specific pathways. You will design assessments that measure behavior change.
- Run intranet information architecture: Curate the Engineering hub for findability and freshness; define taxonomy, tagging, and governance; maintain single sources of truth.
- Use Crunchyroll's toolset: Operate across Crunchyroll's collaboration, analytics, authoring, and content platforms; document scalable workflows and improve them.
- Stand up engineering content operations: Establish templates, versioning, style guides, and DA/DRI review loops across bootcamp materials, SOPs, strategies, and knowledge base content.

- 8–10+ years in instructional design, enablement, or knowledge roles supporting technical audiences, with a senior-level portfolio.
- Experience crafting succinct narratives and decks for senior technical leaders; expert in shaping message, structure, and visuals for decisions.
- Data storytelling: Comfort with metrics and qualitative signals; ability to contextualize data, derive insights, and recommend actions and tradeoffs.
- Learning design expertise: Strong grasp of ADDIE/SAM or similar frameworks; experience designing blended learning with measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional writing and editing: Clear, concise writing for technical audiences; strong editorial judgment and consistency.
- Program and stakeholder management: Ability to plan roadmaps/backlogs, facilitate reviews, and align cross-functional SMEs and senior partners.
- Technical fluency: Familiarity with how engineering orgs operate (SDLC, Agile/DevOps concepts) and the ability to translate “how work gets done” into content.
- Tool adaptability: Fast learner across Crunchyroll's tools; able to connect systems and automate where practical to streamline content operations.
- Portfolio required: Only applications with portfolios will be considered.
The Engineering Operations team creates operational effectiveness by developing repeatable processes, managing budget planning with best‑practice finance tracking, and using OKRs to drive accountability and performance. Partnering with engineering leadership, we shape department strategies aligned to organizational goals and deliver executive‑level communications, presentations, and briefings to support decision‑making.
