We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Insights Analyst to support our growing Strategy & Insights team in helping to answer questions of consequence across our Business – whether its diving into the marketing funnel, helping our supply chain, or digging into the micro and macro-economic factors influencing our business. This highly visible role provides ongoing and ad hoc reporting, dashboards, analytical analysis, and thought leadership to senior leaders across the organization. This is a hands-on position requiring a unique blend of technical and interpersonal skills, innate curiosity, and the internal desire to understand how and why things work. PLEASE NOTE: this is an independent contractor position (indefinite contracting time period) Ideal candidates should be looking to work with and support a US based business and overlap some of their engagement hours with a team based on the Pacific Coast (9 AM PST – 12 PM PST).
Responsibilities:
- Perform in depth analyses using large datasets on factors that influence the business creating reports, dashboard, visualizations, presentations, and white-papers as appropriate to share findings, highlight trends, and call out the most relevant and impactful information.
- Complete routine and ad-hoc analysis that contribute to data-driven strategic decision-making by leaders across the business, including the Executive team and Board of Directors.
- Develop and monitor reporting and dashboards related to OKRs (objectives and key results) and KPIs (key performance indicators) across various Business Units and Departments .
- Perform macro market trend research, micro market case studies, track relevant industry news, and incorporate into reporting, models, or new proposals
- Continually identify areas for efficiency, automation, and organizational improvement; develop proposals and implement solutions for the same.
- Support the Strategy & Insights team in wide-ranging analytics, strategic decisions, experimentation, and ad hoc requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or a closely related discipline. Closely related experience can be substituted or an earned degree on a year-for-year basis. Advanced degrees, certifications, or completed certificates in closely related subjects are highly desired.
- Three (3) to seven (7) years demonstrated work experience in big data and/or business analytics, or closely related discipline.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of demonstrated front-line engagement or consulting experience working with and presenting to end-users at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience researching and building technical business solutions grounded in data to help fix, scale, or create efficiencies within a business or business unit.
- Demonstrated SQL skills and experience, including subqueries and calculations in queries.
- Experience working with and manipulating large volumes of unstructured & structured data.
- Experience using Python for exploratory data analysis (EDA), data processing, and analysis.
- Experience building visualizations in business intelligence tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau, Lookr, QuickSight).
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, management consulting, investment banking, or a closely related industry.
Skills and Competencies:
- Critical Thinking: The ability to use quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to draw insights and recommendations from analysis and present proposals to key stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: The ability to approach problems and situations using a logical and systematic perspective. Demonstrated ability to breakdown complex problems, collect and analyze data, make (or propose) well informed decisions, and reflect on solutions.
- Tech Savvy: Anticipates, adopts, and/or creates innovations in business-building digital and technology applications.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- Proficiency in applicable business intelligence & visualization tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau, Lookr, QuickSight).
- Possess a curious mind, be a quick learner and be open to new ideas
- Ability to coordinate among disparate groups/departments to drive projects forward and identify solutions.
- Bias towards communication and sharing of knowledge and ideas
- Self-Motivated quick starter who takes ownership of assignments and duties with minimal guidance.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively digest complex concepts and effectively communicate the data both in written and verbal.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is ₡11,383,492-₡14,229,365 CRC annually. This is an indefinite independent contracting position.
