Job Description
Job Summary:
This position is hybrid and will be required to be in office two times per month for collaboration working sessions.
The Senior Infrastructure Solutions Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, and administration of the Enterprise virtualization environments. This position will provide input for architectural planning, designing and implementation of virtualization technologies as well as working with the internal and external partners responsible for project planning, cost analysis, and implementation of proposed solutions.
Job Duties:
- Manages the design, implementation and administration of the virtualization environment.
- Installs, configures, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains all virtualization environment.
- Monitors systems and provides information and statistics relevant to system capacity limits/planning on data storage, system utilization.
- Implementation and support of Virtualization Desktop Infrastructure
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistent virtual server provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance, data protection, and quality of service.
- May assist in guiding, training, instructing and assisting others at peer or lower levels on straightforward technical issues.
- Ensures compliance with Exeter’s policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience. Ten (10) or more years of experience within a Microsoft environment preferred.
- Expert knowledge of an Enterprise virtualization environment (VMware – preferred)
- Knowledge of storage technologies.
- Knowledge of network technologies.
- Experience with Blade Servers (Dell preferred)
- Experience working in an ITIL compliant/based environment (Request, Incident, Problem, Change)
- Familiar with project management methodologies.
- Experience working within company retention policies.
