Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We’re looking for sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join our team.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll work with a small team to build solutions in AWS that keep CompanyCam’s web and mobile applications humming. You’ll collaborate with product engineers to deploy new features and improve our existing infrastructure to make it more reliable, resilient, and secure.

We’re currently hiring for two focus areas within Infrastructure; while all Infrastructure Engineers share a core set of responsibilities, you may bring expertise in one of these domains:

If you’re passionate about securing cloud environments, you’ll focus on configuring AWS for security and working with services like AWS Config, Inspector, and Shield. You’ll help us proactively harden our systems, ensuring compliance, defining and enforcing security policies, building automation and ensuring that the organization can detect, respond to, and investigate security incidents.

If you’re driven to make developers’ lives easier, you’ll work on the core services we use to deploy applications and improve our internal developer experience platform. This includes documenting patterns, practices, and processes, helping our engineering teams move quickly, safely, and consistently.

We partner with product teams who work in synchronized multi-week cycles with dedicated planning phases. Our team actively collaborates with these product teams while ensuring smooth operation and continuous improvement of our production systems. We share weekly updates to track goals and maintain alignment, while giving you the flexibility to manage your work in the way that works best for you.

Meetings are purposeful and few. We champion a healthy work environment where you can focus on quality work during your 8-hour day and then log off. Nights and weekends are for you, not for work.

Must-haves

These are our non-negotiables:

• Strong knowledge of AWS, including its networking, relational database management and cloud storage services.
• Experience deploying containerized applications and working with Github Actions and Terraform.
• Capable of scripting in bash, ruby and/or python.
• Able to break down a complex task and document its solution
• Understands how to analyze an existing system to identify improvements
• Be technically savvy and hungry to learn.
• Reside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S. Alas, we're not set up to hire outside of the U.S.

Plus:

• Experience deploying AWS security services (AWS Config, Inspector, and Shield)
• Experience implementing and maintaining security alerting across infrastructure domains

• Experience with AWS ECS/EKS Fargate

Nice-to-haves

Day to day, you’ll spend most of your time designing, improving and deploying infrastructure services to AWS. You’ll be able to have even more impact if you have expertise in one or more of the following:

• Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• AWS Fargate, OpenSearch or PostgreSQL
• Designing systems for security and high availability
• Generative AI tools for enhancing infrastructure systems
• Producing and presenting educational content of technical concepts

This is a salaried/hourly position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary range is $200,000 -$210,000 per year/hour and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.
