Senior Infrastructure Engineer (PHP, Symfony) with French

The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists.

Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

We are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineer (PHP, Symfony) with French to join Sopra Steria Polska for a team that cooperates with one of our French clients. 
 

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice, Poland.
 

Responsibilities 

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications and services using PHP, Symfony, and MariaDB. 
• Design, implement, and support APIs and system integrations between business applications and IT platforms. 
• Build and optimize backend and frontend components to meet business and technical requirements. 
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery. 
• Develop and execute unit and end-to-end (E2E) tests to ensure application quality and stability. 
• Support the containerization of applications and related deployment processes. 
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application and integration issues. 
• Create and maintain technical and operational documentation. 
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to development, automation, and software delivery processes. 

Must Have Requirements 

• Senior-level experience in application development and automation. 
• Strong hands-on experience with PHP, Symfony, and MariaDB. 
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting APIs and system integrations. 
• Experience in backend and frontend development. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes. 
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end (E2E) testing. 
• Experience with application containerization technologies. 
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to create and maintain technical and operational documentation. 
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Proactive and detail-oriented. 
• Ability to document processes and share knowledge effectively. 
• Very good command of French & English (min. B2) – daily communication with the client. 
• Being open to occasional business trips abroad and regular visits in our office in Katowice. 

Nice to Have 

• Symfony Certification. 
• DevOps Foundation Certification.
