Senior Implementations Accountant

Carta is looking for a Senior Implementation Accountant to join our fund administration team. Carta expanded to the Asia Pacific region in 2021 and we are building a world-class team to support the private fund ecosystems. Most of our team is based in Singapore, with a small number of remote employees based around the region, including in Australia and Abu Dhabi. 

The private funds industry has been growing rapidly and we would like to add highly motivated, innovative individuals who are willing to “roll up their sleeves” to join the fund administration team. As a Senior Implementations Accountant, you are the first contact point for our new Fund Administration customers into Carta services and you will focus efforts on supporting them in their journey. You will drive operational excellence within our fast-growing Fund Administration business by coordinating, facilitating and managing onboarding activities that are critical to achieving success for both our customers and Carta within a tight deadline. 

In this role you will be responsible for interacting with a fund’s back office (CFOs, Fund Managers) to collect their historical data, provide advisory support, provide demonstration of our software and ultimately deliver accurate financial statements to both the client and their internal stakeholders. 

From close of sales, to implementation, and continued customer success, the ideal Implementations Accountant will exhibit a high degree of problem-solving, efficiency, curiosity and integrity as they leverage their subject-matter expertise to provide customers with a world-class onboarding experience. 

Our goal is to position Carta as the leading Fund Administration group. As the Senior Implementation Accountant at Carta, you will be part of a highly dynamic team to support our goal and the future of the Fund Administration business. In this role, you will collaborate with new fund administration customers to support them and provide best in class onboarding experience - advising them on best accounting practices, managing and completing the projects within agreed upon timelines, creating accurate reports for the customers and their investors from at times unstructured client data. You will also be working closely with the Senior Director on localising the fund administration product/ service offerings for the region.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in fund administration.
• You have strong critical thinking, problem solving, curiosity and decision making skills.
• You are interested in project management and providing best-in-class-service.
• You take pride in your ability to communicate effectively and are able to multitask to meet multiple deadlines. 
• You have an understanding of Venture Capital, Private Equity Fund Administration as well as local fund structures like Unit Trust, Investment Company, Limited Partnerships (VCLP, ESVCLP) , stapled structures
• You have experience interpreting and understanding fund documents like Limited Partnership Agreements, Private Placement Memorandum etc.
• You have advanced Microsoft Office skills, Investran experience will be an advantage.
• You are interested in working on projects in a fast paced environment with a supportive team and as an individual.
• Having CPA/CA qualifications will be an advantage
• Having SaaS experience will be an advantage
