About this opportunity:

The Senior Implementation Technologist will primarily be responsible to steward the offshore implementation of West White Rose (WWR) Flowline & Brownfield Projects. The position will work closely with our EPC contractor and our SCM, maintenance, and offshore planning groups to ensure offshore implementation is ready to  implement and is incorporated to execution plans, material movement plans, and people movement plans. This position requires a solid technical understanding of the offshore work, the required offshore labor  skills needed, and the Cenovus organization and procedures to  complete work offshore. The role supports the overall Project Team' s goal of execution of the West White Rose (WWR) Flowline & Brownfield Projects, aligned with the Atlantic region reservoir depletion plan.

This position is a full time, permanent position, located at our St. John’s office.

What you’ll do:

  • Review EPC workpacks issued for construction

  • Ensure materials are packaged and ready to ship offshore

  • Ensure resources are available and are approved to work offshore

  • Coordinate with planning to ensure the work is scheduled in offshore execution plan

  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure materials and resources are scheduled to move and aligned with the offshore execution plan

  • Liaise with maintenance and integrity teams to optimize use of offshore construction resources

  • Provide onshore support to offshore construction, completions and commissioning

  • Support coordination of material backloads

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Technical designation, Engineer or Technologist

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience with construction, completion and commissioning of medium scale projects, particularly in Well Flowline Tie-in would be an asset

  • Solid understanding of the materials and workforce resources required for medium scale projects, particularly in Well Flowline Tie-in would be an asset

  • Solid understanding of operations business units involved in executing work offshore - marine logistics, helicopter operations, safety certifications, etc.

  • Solid understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry, with working knowledge of offshore installation regulations

  •  Receive necessary training per CAPP Standard Practice, regulations, and Cenovus Training Matrix.

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a medical and driver’s abstract review.
