The role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Hydraulic and Irrigation Engineer to join our team for a Water Resources and Irrigation project based in Lahore. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hydraulic engineering, irrigation systems, and water resources management, with proven experience in the planning, design, and implementation of large-scale irrigation and infrastructure projects.

  • Lead hydraulic and irrigation engineering studies, design activities, and technical assessments for water resources and irrigation projects.
  • Conduct hydraulic modelling, water flow analysis, and irrigation network design in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, BOQs, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Design and review canals, pipelines, pumping stations, drainage systems, and related hydraulic structures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental specialists, to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during project planning, execution, and implementation phases.
  • Assess project risks related to hydraulic performance, water management, and environmental considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and international engineering standards.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in hydraulic and irrigation engineering, preferably on large-scale water resources and irrigation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic modelling software and irrigation system design tools.
  • Experience in the design and management of canals, irrigation systems, drainage infrastructure, and hydraulic structures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
