About the Role
We’re currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with a strong mix of functional and automation testing experience to join our consulting team.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on across both disciplines, with strong capability in Playwright/TypeScript, and a background in Banking or Financial Services. You’ll play a key role in building and scaling automation capability across complex enterprise systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript)
- Develop robust, reusable automation scripts (not record-and-playback)
- Implement and optimise advanced locator strategies (dynamic selectors, stability improvements)
- Troubleshoot and resolve flaky tests and automation failures, improving reliability
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing
- Perform API and integration automation, validating complex data flows across systems
- Execute functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across enterprise platforms
- Contribute to automation strategy and uplift, helping teams adopt best practices
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience as a Hybrid Tester (Functional + Automation)
- Hands-on expertise in Playwright with TypeScript
- Proven ability to build automation frameworks from scratch
- Mandatory experience within Banking or Financial Services environments
- Strong understanding of automation design patterns (POM, modular frameworks, etc.)
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD environments (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Solid experience in integration testing across complex systems
- Strong debugging skills and ability to analyse and resolve automation issues
- Must have valid Australian work rights (no sponsorship available)
