Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Human Resources Director supporting the Navigation, Intelligence, and Connectivity (NIC) Division. This position will be located in the San Diego, CA office and is not a remote position.

The Division HR Director serves as a strategic business partner providing day-to-day support to the NIC Division Leadership Team (DLT) in accomplishment of business objectives. The primary function of the role is to be a strategic partner and consultant to the business to ensure we have a human capital strategy in place to attract, engage, develop and retain the talent necessary to meet the strategic goals of the business for today and for the future.

The selected candidate will lead a team of HR business partners responsible for executing the HR strategy and will lead human capital programs and core processes including but not limited to talent acquisition, talent assessment and development, performance management, employee relation, total rewards, succession planning and talent pipeline development, organization effectiveness and leadership development. The person in this role is responsible for leading transformative projects and initiative requiring strategic thought leadership, organizational and project management skills in a high paced environment, ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities. Successful candidates will have a strategic mindset, tolerance of ambiguity and strength in building relationships and driving business outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required plus a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in HR OR Master’s degree and 10 years of progressive experience in HR

  • Experience across multiple HR disciplines

  • Experience leading HR teams

  • Experience designing and leading change management efforts

  • Experience designing and implementing human capital strategies aligned to business strategy, with clear business outcomes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others at all levels

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills

  • Adaptability and resilience; able to change course when needed and operate in an ambiguous environment

  • Previous experience developing and implementing organization effectiveness strategies and approaches, implementing organization design and/or organization transformations

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a U.S. Government secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading a team as a Human Resources Director responsible for multiple HR disciplines

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and technology (e.g. Workday)

  • Experience working in a matrix environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $220,100.00 - $330,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
