Avenue One is a disruptive force in U.S. real estate, professionalizing the rental experience for thousands of families across the country. A “prop-tech scaleup” by definition, we are a service platform that enables investors to access single-family rental (SFR) homes by connecting an ecosystem of boots-on-the-ground, local partners to institutional financing. We are in the business of partnerships: finding, vetting and empowering local experts nationwide to find, buy, renovate, lease, and manage properties on behalf of our clients.

We find and purchase properties and coordinate the efforts of our partners through a proprietary technology stack. This system takes in huge amounts of data at national and local levels, which combined with information about each individual property, gives us and our partners a competitive advantage in pricing, speed, and scale. Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required
  • HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR) are a plus
  • Minimum 7-10 years of HR experience, preferably in a startup environment and/or mid-sized company
  • Thorough knowledge of HR best practices, employment-related laws and regulations
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions to Sr. Leaders
  • Experience in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee engagement, development and performance management
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, discretion, trustworthiness, and high ethical standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator, with strong interpersonal, customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Strong people management and team building skills, with experience leading, coaching, and mentoring
  • Experience working with virtual teams
  • Proficient (or able to become proficient) with company applications and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, monday.com, Lucid, Adobe Pro, DocuSign, as well as HR-specific solutions, such as ADP, Greenhouse, and Lattice


Job Description


  • Supports the Head of People in building Avenue One’s people strategies, policies and initiatives 
  • Acts as an ambassador for people initiatives large and small and is a strategic and tactical advisor to Avenue One leadership with regard to all Avenue One people matters
  • Collaborates with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Supports employee relations, including performance management, corrective action plans, and separations
  • Develops and delivers training and employee engagement programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, fostering professional growth and career development
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to align HR initiatives with business objectives and drive organizational effectiveness and growth
  • Stays on top of industry trends and developments in HR practices, implementing innovative approaches to enhance HR programs and processes
  • Keeps a pulse on the health of the business and proactively creates solutions to barriers that arise
  • Innovates and establishes practices that support the overall wellbeing of our employee population
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations in the U.S. and Canada, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Analyzes trends and metrics relevant to HR in order to identify opportunities and implement solutions  
  • Supports the development and implementation of improvements to HR processes
  • Other work-related management responsibilities and duties


Salary Range 

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $150,00-175,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
