1. Staffing - Selection and Recruitment
- Perform all activities related to the selection and the recruitment of drivers and staff; including behavioral based interviews, verification of references and tests;
- Make arrangements with the recruiter and the Driver Trainer for road tests activities;
- Ensure that all applications on the Internet, in person and phone inquiries are processed in a timely matter;
- Work closely with management to ensure their needs are understood and met.
- Ensure compensation guidelines are respected.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and supportive of department’s objectives and legislative obligations.
- Ensure such updates are done in coordination with manager(s) of other sites.

- Looking after the hiring process, including submitting job postings online and scheduling candidate interviews
- Implement and administer employee policies
- Provide high-quality advice and service to management on employee relations and performance management issues
- Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience

- Responsible for Labour Canada audits of the Terminal

- Conduct HR-related research and analysis as requested by management on employment legislation, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging HR trends, providing recommendations to support decision-making.
- Support and coordinate HR audits, government reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to applicable employment laws and organizational policies
- Serve as a key point of contact for employee and management HR concerns, providing guidance, resolving issues, or escalating complex matters as appropriate.
- Partner with managers across departments to develop and review HR-related communications and documentation, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with company policies and legal obligations.
- Coaching managers on employee relations and performance management.
- Supporting workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
- Leading HR projects and process improvements.
- Identify and escalate employee relations, compliance, or organizational risks to management when appropriate.
- Supporting investigations and conflict resolution processes.
- Retention: Analyze employee turnover data, exit interviews, and retention trends; provide insights and recommendations to improve employee engagement and retention.

- Develop and coordinate HR communication strategies that promote employee awareness, engagement, and understanding of company policies, programs, and organizational initiatives
- Review, approve, and audit HR department invoices and expenditures in accordance with budget guidelines and company approval processes.

- Compile statistics in relation to objectives and participate in the analysis of trend in order to make recommendations towards continuous improvement

Skills Required
- Experience using behavioral-based interviewing and scoring systems
- Proven experience in selection and recruitment of drivers and staff, including coordination of road tests
- Knowledge of employment legislation, compliance, and experience supporting HR audits and Labour Canada audits
- Experience administering WCB / workers' compensation claims
- Experience conducting investigations, preparing disciplinary letters, and managing employee relations and performance management
- Experience leading or chairing safety committees and overseeing health and safety activities
