We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon! As a Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for work that encompasses activities related to the well-being of our associates in Johns Creek, GA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and taking preliminary samples and measurements of dangerous forces and toxic substances, removing hazards and protecting employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment

• Taking effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions follow applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained

• Participating in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation

• Preparing and forwarding as required reports on injuries and fatalities, investigating accidents, and collaborating closely with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify root causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence

• Conducting safe work procedures training courses, providing advice, and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety

• Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace

• Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions

• Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and providing information required by regulatory agencies

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

• 5 Years of Relevant Experience
