Status: Hybrid – In-office and entity locations.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 - 4:30 pm.
Salary: Starting from $37.51 an hour – Depending on skills and experiences.

About the Role:

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Senior HR Generalist serves as the primary HR contact for Seabird Island entities, providing strategic and operational human resources support. This role works closely with leaders to strengthen workplace practices, navigate employee relations matters, ensure legislative compliance, and support organizational growth through culturally grounded and people-centered HR solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR guidance and support to leaders across multiple entities and industries.
  • Advise on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead or support investigations, conflict resolution, and complex employee relations matters.
  • Facilitate training, leadership development, and employee growth initiatives.
  • Support Occupational Health & Safety programs, accommodations, and return-to-work plans.
  • Develop HR resources, reports, communications, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Act as the liaison between Seabird Island and its entities to ensure consistent HR practices and support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or Business Partner capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation, labour standards, workplace investigations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management, and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Experience in the Trades/Labour Industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and applying culturally safe practices is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
