JOB SUMMARY: 

DENSO is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner at our Maryville TN manufacturing facility. This individual will support the business or functional unit along with supporting various disciplines of human resources in the fields of compensation, benefits, training and development, talent review/succession planning, resource planning, and associate relations. They will focus on customer service and solutions related to human resources activities.  


**This position is 100% on-site at the DENSO Maryville, TN manufacturing facility** 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provides HR assistance to assigned business unit(s) or function unit(s) to ensure customer requests and needs are met in a timely basis. Typically supports those associate relations that are considered moderate to high risk. 
  • Improves business or function unit performance by serving as main point of contact, partnering with management and associates to identify and clarify problems, evaluating and recommending potential solutions, implementing selected solutions and mentoring managers and associates. 
  • Administers, interprets and explains routine and moderate human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends in order to support the development of solutions, programs and policies. 
  • Anticipates and plans for short-term human resource needs and trends with management. Keeps informed and aware of other functions and activities within North America Human Resources in order to quickly respond to customers. 
  • Supports strong associate relations for the Company by gathering information from associates and managers during fact finding conversations to make recommendations for coaching and discipline with associates. 
  • May serve as point of contact for Human Resources managers and associates that belong to another HR functional group and support with data collection, program coordination and administration, analysis and recommendations specific to location. 
  • Represents management and associate perspective and provides recommendations to functional groups on Company policies for improvements. 
  • Fosters company culture through coordinating activities, events and other programs. 
  • Completes assigned tasks related to group projects, and may play a lead role in some projects. 
  • Mentors less experienced colleagues to support their development and advancement along with participating in improving function standards and efficiencies. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational management or related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner.  
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience. 
  • Demonstrates strong capability to use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner. 
  • 5+ years of experience at an OEM or Tier 1 Supplier.  
  • Demonstrated experience with positive employee relations, administering discipline and performance improvement. 
  • Experience with Talent Management processes (e.g. talent review, performance management, succession planning, career development and training). 
  • Six Sigma certification and/or PDCA experience highly desirable 
  • Experience working with Oracle 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures and ability to interpret to management and  associates. 
  • Good knowledge of labor and employment law. 
  • Knowledge of a variety of functional areas within Human Resources. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills. 
  • Competent level of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Analytical skills. 
  • Strong customer service skills

Annual Salary: $63,000 - $79,000
