Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Overview
The Senior Hardware Engineer will provide high-level technical contribution in designing, testing, and validating specialized equipment, focusing on embedded systems, circuit design, and multi-layer PCBs, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards. Power Electronics experience is a MUST.
● Design, develop, simulate, and optimize power electronic circuits including:
○ Inverters
○ DC-DC Converters
○ AC-DC Converters
○ Battery Chargers
○ AC Power Supplies
○ DC Power Supplies
● Utilize simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, and other relevant platforms for circuit analysis, design verification, and performance optimization.
● Build hardware prototypes and perform hands-on testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis activities.
● Collaborate with PCB layout engineers or directly support PCB layout activities with focus on:
○ High-current and high-voltage routing
○ Thermal management
○ Parasitic minimization
○ Design optimization for manufacturability and reliability
● Select suitable power electronic and analog components considering electrical, thermal, reliability, and application-specific requirements.
● Conduct thermal analysis, qualification testing, screening tests, and EMI/EMC evaluations.
● Participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) conducted by customers and internal stakeholders.
● Support product development activities throughout the complete product lifecycle.
● Ensure designs comply with applicable military standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.
● Prepare and maintain technical documentation including:

○ Working Principle Documents
○ Schematics
○ Bill of Materials (BOMs)
○ Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
○ Acceptance Test Reports (ATR)

● Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:
○ Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
○ Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
○ Instrumentation Engineering
○ Telecommunication Engineering
○ Power Electronics Engineering
○ Other relevant disciplines
● 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power Electronics Design and Development.
● Strong experience in Analog Circuit Design and Power Supply Design.
● Candidates should have successfully completed and delivered at least 4–5 Power Electronics projects.
● Experience in Aerospace or Defence Power Supply Design will be considered an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics design and development
- Strong experience in analog circuit design and power supply design
- Successfully completed and delivered at least 4-5 power electronics projects
- Strong understanding of power converter topologies, analog and digital circuit design, control theory, control loop design, and power electronics component selection
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, and LTspice
- Experience in hardware debugging, validation, and prototype testing
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance requirements and mitigation techniques
- Knowledge of applicable military standards, including MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-2164, MIL-STD-1629, and MIL-STD-217G
- Hands-on experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical specifications, hardware design documents, schematics, BOMs, ATPs, ATRs, QTPs, reliability reports, derating analyses, FMECA analyses, screening test documents, and design reports
- Experience in aerospace or defense power supply design
