At Grounded, we’re redefining the specialty vehicle industry and we’re looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the charge.
In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise, craftsmanship, and creativity to design and build innovative hardware systems from the ground up. You’ll own the end-to-end development of consumer-facing hardware for some of the most exciting specialty vehicles on the road.

What You'll Do
- Design, analyze, build, and test mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluid systems for Grounded’s vehicle platform.
- Develop next-generation vehicle systems and solutions that push the limits of specialty vehicles.
- Create and manage complex CAD models and drawings in Siemens NX.
- Fabricate prototype and production parts using hands-on skills and experience.
- Develop new manufacturing methods and source innovative materials.
- Write technical documentation and define requirements across diverse customer use cases.
- Lead design reviews and conduct data-driven trade studies to drive key decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in design, preferably in materials, aerospace, energy or heavy equipment.
- 5+ years of experience with Siemens NX.
- Experience taking designs from concept through prototyping to initial production.
- Proven experience with composites and/or welded structures.
- Demonstrated hands-on skills in building and fabricating hardware (professionally or as a hobby).
- Direct experience working with or in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
