The Role

The Senior Graphic Designer is a gifted communicator who's passionate about creating visual designs across multiple platforms. They are responsible for taking strategic briefs and interpreting them into compelling and engaging layouts. The projects span several mediums - including print, digital, packaging, and video. The work will often be an integral part of larger campaigns, but they'll also own and liaise directly with colleagues on smaller nimble projects. The Senior Graphic Designer possesses a thorough knowledge of branding and marketing, and effects a consistent, compelling style across multiple touchpoints. This position currently reports to the interim Creative Director. This is subject to change as the Brand Marketing team evolves.

Job Description

  • Translates strategic direction and helps shape creative briefs into high-quality design executions that reflect and enhance each brands' identity.
  • Is an influential voice into the development and shaping of campaign creative. This is achieved via close collaboration with other senior creative personnel.
  • Develops design concepts and executes original content by determining the ideal arrangement of color, typography, imagery, and composition.
  • Creates various layouts, iconography, package designs, website designs, logos, and illustrations according to briefed specifications.
  • Participates and helps to lead group brainstorms that conceive and refine each brands' marketing and brand campaigns.
  • Meets with key stakeholders (including, but not limited to the Creative Director, Content Manager, Project Managers and Digital personnel) to discuss the requirements and design of each campaign initiative.
  • Participates in collaborative revision and approval process until final design is approved.
  • Liaises directly with assigned digital team members to produce required assets for specific channels. This includes, but is not limited to, email, social media, and DTC website.
  • Facilitates uploading process for all design assets and associated project materials.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, and self-education.
  • Contributes to a culture that promotes and rewards initiative, growth, open communication, accountability and excellence.
  • Develop and promote an environment that encourages constant experimentation and learning, wherein failure is normalized.
  • Take a long term view of the organization and revenue. Focus on building a company that services our customers into the future and provides concrete value and solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years experience as mid-level graphic designer in an agency or inhouse marketing department.
  • Experience at multiple sizes and maturities of companies, specifically at start-ups and mid-stage companies is desired
  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills.
  • Strong communication skills with fine attention to detail.
  • Able to meet short deadlines, follow creative briefs, work in a fast-paced environment, and coordinate with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite - with high proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Selfstarter with excellent prioritization skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, results focused environment.
  • Required Software experience: Adobe Creative Suite (with high proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat), Google suite, Office suite, CMS platform/s (e.g. Shopify, WordPress).
  • Desired Software experience: Project Management platforms (e.g. Asana, SmartSheet), Email platforms (e.g. Klaviyo)
