Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing, the Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing and executing BSR’s creative design work, including presentations, reports, collateral marketing materials, websites, direct e-mail campaigns and event design. The manager is also responsible for stewarding and shaping BSR’s overall brand look and feel.
The position is part of a global Marketing and Communications team, which currently has staff based in San Francisco, New York, Portland, and Paris. The team works closely with all parts of the organization, particularly membership engagement, issue experts, industry leads, and BSR collaborations.
This position is available remote/hybrid in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, project manage and lead design of new and updated website pages with a focus on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI)
- Collaborate closely with website manager to ensure designs in line with technical specifications, etc.
- Lead weekly website planning meeting.
- Oversee branding strategy and implementation for BSR and its various sub-brands (collaborative initiatives).
- Design key reports.
- Collaborate with the Editorial Manager to create engaging designs, and select strong, relevant images for editorial content.
- Produce graphics for social media platforms.
- Design PowerPoint presentations and templates, and offer guidance to staff.
- Design marketing collateral, including offering one-pagers.
- Format/enhance report design in Microsoft Word.
- Identify, retain and manage external vendors for design projects as needed, clarifying objectives/audiences, and overseeing creative design direction.
- Produce graphics for events and webinars.
Compensation
At BSR we have implemented a transparent total compensation framework with an emphasis on internal equity. In order to maintain our equity, our hiring rate for this position is listed below.
US: $104,099
Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years of work experience in digital publications design, branding, UX/UI, and presentation design; a background in business and sustainability is ideal, but not required.
- Strong portfolio of outstanding design products, with relevant examples of projects completed in each of the key areas identified in the core job responsibilities.
- Ability to conceptualize, develop and execute design assignments well attuned to BSR’s brand, and the target audience.
- The candidate most likely to succeed will be a self-starter comfortable working independently, but also a flexible, , innovative collaborator, able to communicate effectively with non-design professionals.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines, including balancing both short-term and long-term deliverables.
- Ability to translate technical content into compelling visualizations.
- Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial organization that works closely with large global companies in pursuit of its mission.
- High ethical standards and commitment to BSR’s core values of leadership, integrity, and respect.
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-directed working style.
- Willingness to undertake up to 15% business travel.
