As Senior Government Affairs Manager, you will play a key role in taking our industry leading products to market by shaping and managing how Helsing engages with the UK MOD and wider defence community. Working closely with the Managing Director, Director of Strategic Engagement and the wider Programmes and Partnerships team, you will advise on and help create innovative commercial strategies to propel the Helsing mission forward. This is an exciting opportunity to build a new type of defence company that will redefine military capability.
The day-to-dayBe the voice of Helsing with the UK defence customer
Identify, develop and manage key stakeholder relationships and build high level and enduring relationships with defence customers based on transformative outcomes
Support and advise the UK team on broader domain strategy and product roadmap
Navigate the halls of Whitehall and Abbey Wood, ensuring end users get the best equipment, at the most affordable price, in the quickest time possible by removing blockers and progressing programmes at speed
Ensure UK Defence and industry work in true partnership to achieve the best outcomes for our Armed Forces
Have worked in, or closely with, DE&S and other defense commercial agencies
Have a strong and demonstrable commitment to strengthening UK defence and a good understanding of Defence programmes, requirements setting, delivery and commercial practices
Work with an innovative mindset and a flair to find novel solutions within the UK defence procurement regulatory environment
Have a creative approach to securing new business based on in-depth, practical understanding of defence/government contracting from both the customer and supply chain perspectives
Understand the importance of excellent trust-based stakeholder relationships
Understand or have experience of UK Defence and its stakeholder network, whether from within the UK Armed Forces, Civil Service, industry, or as part of the wider defence community
