Position Overview: Tempus AI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Government Affairs Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our government relations efforts, advocating for policies that promote the growth and ethical use of AI technologies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to AI and technology.
- Assist in the development and execution of government affairs strategies to influence policy decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, and presentations for internal and external use.
- Coordinate and attend meetings, hearings, and events with government representatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align government affairs initiatives with business objectives.
- Support the preparation of reports and updates on government affairs activities for senior management.
- Conduct research on emerging issues and trends in AI policy and regulation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
- Experience in lobbying and advocacy efforts.
- Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop strategic recommendations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for AI and technology, and a commitment to ethical practices in the industry.
