In this role, you will:
- Oversee all inbound transportation operations to ensure on-time delivery of materials to support production schedules and prevent downtime.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for transportation processes, systems, and performance within the supply chain organization.
- Manage and optimize inbound freight budgets, including cost forecasting, carrier performance, and spend analysis.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of SAP Transportation Management (TM) to ensure accurate shipment visibility, carrier communication, and freight settlement.
- Develop and maintain KPIs to measure transportation performance, cost efficiency, and supplier compliance.
- Partner closely with the Inventory Planning team to align inbound logistics with material availability and production needs.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics partners to resolve delivery issues, transportation delays, and supplier performance concerns.
- Ensure all inbound shipments are accurately tracked, documented, and reconciled in SAP to support real-time visibility and financial accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency across the inbound network.
- Provide leadership and guidance to logistics planners, fostering a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Transportation Management Systems experience
- Strong understanding of inbound logistics processes and carrier management.
- Demonstrated success in managing transportation budgets and improving cost efficiency.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or other complex production environments.
- Background in inventory or materials planning.
- Experience implementing or optimizing SAP TM processes.
- Proficiency with SAP Transportation Management (TM) and integration with S/4HANA.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
