Senior GL Accountant

We are looking for a Senior GL Accountant who will be based out of our Headquarters in Amsterdam. The role will report to our Head of Financial Reporting & Compliance and is part of the wider Finance department, comprised of 9 people working across Financial Reporting & Compliance; Business Control / FP&A; and Financial Operations.
What You Do:

• Act as a resource for the team to advise on any technical accounting matters that arise and align policies across the organisation
• Prepare and post journal entries during the month-end close process, including payroll journals, cost and revenue accruals, and other necessary adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Perform analytics on the monthly closing numbers per the Trial balance compared to previous period to ensure accuracy, completeness, and that all movements are able to be clearly explained
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses when requested by either senior management or EVP Finance     
• Manage Annual audit and assist in the preparation of Annual (statutory) reports
• Prepare weekly Cashflow forecast and manage the cash balances
• Assist in preparations of Tax returns, WBSO and Statistical reporting
• Perform and maintain the intercompany reconciliation process
• Ownership of Capitalization process for Technology development costs (Closing Activity)
• In charge of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
• Assist in the roll out of our financial reporting tool and any other future EPM systems

Who You Are:

• Strong accounting background and proven technical and operational accounting experience
• Possess a degree in Accounting or related area of study
• Solid understanding of (Dutch) GAAP and exposure to international accounting standards
• Experience managing the monthly accounting close process
• Experience with consolidation and managing ledgers for multiple legal entities
• Experience and/or exposure with accounting systems (NetSuite is a plus)
• Experience responding to external auditor questions and requests
• Comfortable with setting up new processes from scratch 
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic high-growth environment
• Strong organisation and communication skills with the ability to work well cross-functionally
• Highly numerate, meticulous and organised to allow for polished final deliverables free from errors
• Google Sheets - PivotTables, SUMIFS, INDEX and MATCH are second nature for you
• Hands-on mentality - pragmatic, action-oriented, self-starter
• Accountable and take ownership of any projects you undertake
• Analytical and curious - you ask a lot of questions
• Ability to communicate financial information in a clear, professional manner
• Enjoys working in an international environment
