Position Overview

The Senior GL Accountant reports to Record to Report manager and has to ensure that Financial & Statutory Statements of the company’s are correctly prepared for Statutory and USGAAP Guidelines. Additionally, has to support the Management of the companies on Financial, Tax and Legal matters.

Primary Responsibilities
 

55% – Accountant and Monthly Closing Activities
  • Prepare and ensure timely monthly financial statements for NA finance entities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and reporting deadlines.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting to Corporate Accounting, ensuring financial statements present a true and fair view of the business.
  • Manage key accounting activities including 10-K reporting, Corporate Tax Questionnaires, SAB104 analysis, and support for multi-element agreements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, coordinate accruals with Corporate Controlling and FP&A teams, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, support close activities, review journal entries, ensure SOX compliance, and assist with internal/external audits and other ad hoc accounting requirements.
40% – Analytical Review Activities
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet variance analyses and commentaries in line with company thresholds.
  • Conduct detailed P&L variance analysis by GL account and cost center, identifying key drivers, unusual trends, and reporting risks in collaboration with Finance Controlling.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting checklists and maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing meaningful insights into business performance.
  • Support the RtR Financial Controlling team in understanding P&L drivers, investigate financial variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting through timely issue escalation.
5% – Process Improvement and Other Projects
  • Review and enhance process documentation for transitioned and existing activities, ensuring robust procedures, business continuity, and continuous process improvement.

Minimum Requirements
 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related area;

  • Strong technical accounting background<

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience preferably in multinational companies or Share Service Centers;

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills;

  • Experienced working with SAP or another ERP system are essential;

  • Advanced Excel based skills are essential;

  • Organized, Motivated, Professional and Excellent Analytical Skills;
