ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate should have previous experience and be comfortable wearing different hats in a constantly changing and evolving industry. This role reports to our CFO.

This position is onsite, remote candidates will not be considered.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist with monthly close process to achieve required deadlines
  • Ensure inventory valuations and costs are accurate
  • Assist in A/R, A/P and all general accounting functions
  • Utilize strong attention to detail to support various accounting responsibilities and complete timely with minimal errors

WHAT YOU’VE DONE: (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of General Ledger and Journal Entry experience
  • Knowledge of Accounting standards and regulations (GAAP)
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to research and solve complex problems with multiple variables
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Able to build new capabilities
  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Previous experience with an ERP a plus (Acumatica)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Assist with full cycle accounting processes
  • Provide monthly review of all transactions with a focus on inventory and subaccounts
  • Participate in month-end close and related reporting
  • Contribute to preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist with financial audits and tax related work
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and GL accounts
  • Maintain and update inventory tracking spreadsheets
  • Assist with automating processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of state and federal Cannabis finance regulations
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good vision and hearing
  • Clear speech and communication skills
  • Ability to work on a computer at least eight (8) hours per day
  • Comfortable in both a warehouse and office environment (variable temperatures may be experienced)
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
