Founded in 2015, Grover enables consumers and businesses across Europe to subscribe to tech devices and comprehensive technology solutions - from individual smartphones, laptops, and wearables to full corporate device setups. The company offers access to over 1,000 unique tech items on flexible and financially convenient terms. A pioneer of the circular economy, Grover refurbishes and recirculates devices to help eliminate e-waste.
To continue this incredible adventure, we are currently looking for a Senior German Creative Copywriter to join our talented Design team at our Berlin HQ (3 days per week, Tuesday-Thursday).
In this role, you'll own the voice of Grover across brand campaigns, performance marketing, CRM, and product surfaces. You'll report directly to the Head of Design and partner closely on the strategic direction of copy at Grover: tone of voice, messaging frameworks, and how copy supports both brand and growth goals. You'll also lead our AI copy stack, building and maintaining the prompts, style guides, and workflows in Gemini, Claude, Lokalise, and Contentful that let other teams self-serve high-quality copy. This is a strategic role for a writer who treats AI tooling as core craft.
🎯 What you will contribute:
- Grover's voice in German and English across brand, performance, CRM, and product surfaces - starting with Germany and scaling to all four markets
- Strategic direction of copy at Grover (with the Head of Design): tone of voice, messaging frameworks, and how copy supports brand and growth goals
- Brand and campaign copy - from big-idea concepts and taglines to headlines, scripts, and long-form storytelling
- Performance and growth copy for paid social, display, search, and landing pages - with a clear understanding of how words drive conversion
- CRM and lifecycle copy across email, push, and in-app messaging
- Product copy support on web, app, and checkout surfaces, partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering through Contentful
- Grover's AI copy stack: prompts, brand-voice style guides, and workflows in Gemini, Claude, Lokalise, and Contentful so other teams can self-serve high-quality copy at scale
🤝 What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience as a copywriter in a fast-paced environment (agency, scale-up, or in-house brand team)
- Native German and native or bilingual English - you write effortlessly in both languages, with equal command of craft, cultural nuance, and tone
- Local market insight beyond language fluency - cultural references, idioms, and regional sensitivities across DE/AT
- A portfolio that shows range and craft: brand and campaign work, performance copy that converts, and lifecycle copy that builds relationships
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools (Gemini, Claude, or equivalent) as part of your daily craft - from ideation and first drafts to localization and QA
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and improve prompt libraries and brand-voice style guides that other people (and tools) can actually use
- Hands-on experience with Lokalise and Contentful (or similar localization and CMS platforms)
- Strong strategic thinking you can connect a business or brand goal to the right message, format, and channel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills you can present, articulate, and defend copy decisions
- Own It: We take ownership seriously and define what success looks like. We drive shared ownership and don't wait - we drive. We keep one another accountable and take responsibility when issues arise.
- Challenge, Decide, and Commit: We engage in proactive support, active listening, and healthy conflict to reach the best outcomes. We value diverse perspectives and, once a decision is made, we commit to it fully.
- Empower and Grow: We enable, trust, and coach one another toward high performance, always thinking and acting like owners. We seek growth, apply feedback, and support the development of our peers.
- Respect, Transparency, and Clarity: We strive for clear, respectful, and open communication with no surprises. We simplify complex information so everyone knows the "what, why, and how".

What We Do
Grover is Europe’s market leader in technology rentals, enabling people to subscribe to tech products monthly instead of buying them. Founded in 2015 by Michael Cassau, Grover’s mission is to create the most innovative ways for everyone – both private customers and businesses – to get the tech they want. With Grover, subscribers get access to a wide range of over 3,000 tech products, including smartphones, laptops, virtual reality (VR) gear, wearables and smart home appliances on a flexible monthly rental basis. Grover’s service allows its users to keep, switch, buy, or return products depending on their individual needs and budget. Rentals are available in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and the United States on GROVER.COM, as well as – in Germany – through Grover’s online and offline partner network, including Europe’s leading electronics retail group, MediaMarktSaturn. Grover is a pioneer in the advancement of the Circular Economy and the number of circulations has been over 500,000 devices. Its business model of renting out tech products to several users across their life cycle allows maximum value to be extracted from each product and reduces e-waste. With a total financing volume of around €1.4bn, and 400+ employees, Grover is one of Germany’s best-funded scale-ups.
