Senior GEO / AEO /SEO manager
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of digital marketing
Collaborates with: Sales, CRM, Product, Demand marketing, Content, Data and analytics
This role offers an opportunity to operate at the forefront of one of the biggest shifts in digital marketing - the transition from traditional search to AI-driven discovery. As search evolves from “ranking pages” to “being the answer” and ultimately “being cited by AI,” this role gives you the chance to shape how Apex Group and its sub brands are represented across Google, ChatGPT, and emerging platforms.

Strategy and Leadership
- Define and brief an integrated SEO, GEO, and AEO strategy into our AEO/SEO agency and manage the relationship on a day-to-day basis
- Develop a roadmap aligned with commercial goals (traffic, pipeline, revenue)
- Own organic and AI-search channel performance end-to-end
- Act as subject matter expert for evolving search trends and AI visibility
Generative and Answer Engine Optimisation (GEO/AEO)
- Own and manage third party AEO agency relationship to ensure strategic objectives are defined, objectives clarified, deliver plans mapped to timelines and reporting parameters agreed and met
- Optimise brand visibility in AI-generated responses and answer engines
- Develop prompt monitoring frameworks (e.g., key queries across AI tools)
- Improve:
- AI citation rate
- Share-of-model visibility
- Sentiment and positioning in AI responses
- Structure content to be AI-readable, extractable, and authoritative
- Lead initiatives in:
- Semantic SEO and entity optimisation
- Structured data and schema strategies
- LLM content interpretation
Traditional SEO Management
- Own and manage third party SEO agency relationship to ensure strategic objectives are delivered
- Lead technical SEO, on-page optimisation and off-site authority building
- Conduct keyword and intent analysis to drive organic growth
- Oversee:
- Technical audits (site speed, crawlability, indexing)
- Content optimisation and link-building campaigns
- Monitor algorithm updates and adapt strategy accordingly
Content and Experience Optimisation
- Partner with content teams to deliver:
- Answer-first, structured and conversational content formats
- High-performing landing pages and knowledge assets
- Ensure alignment between:
- User intent
- Search intent
- AI interpretation patterns
Performance and Analytics
- Define KPIs across SEO, GEO, and AEO, including:
- Organic traffic, rankings, conversions
- AI visibility metrics (e.g., inclusion, citation, zero-click share)
- Build reporting dashboards and provide insights to leadership
- Translate data into actionable growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with web administration team to ensure technical SEO and AI optimisations are implemented
