Senior General Ledger Accountant

Hi, we’re AMBOSS and we’re searching for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Accounting & Tax team at AMBOSS.

As a Senior GL Accountant, you will take full ownership over key accounting areas and entities within our expanding SaaS portfolio. This role demands a high level of technical mastery in both HGB and IFRS, ensuring our financial reporting remains a benchmark of integrity.

Beyond compliance, you will be a key agent for change, identifying and implementing process efficiencies that keep pace with our rapid growth. You will serve as a definitive point of contact for auditors and internal leaders, playing a decisive role in the strategic advancement of our global accounting function.

• Own the full month-end and year-end closing process for one or more legal entities.

• Ensure technical compliance under HGB and IFRS, including complex areas (e.g., revenue recognition, inter-company, provisions, accruals).

• Prepare financial statements and technical accounting documentation.

• Act as primary contact for external auditors and coordinating audit processes.

• Review reconciliations and providing guidance to junior team members.

• Drive the transition from DATEV to Workday ERP from an accounting perspective.

• Design and improving accounting processes and internal controls.

• Ensuring consolidation readiness, including inter-company alignment and eliminations.

• Supporting SaaS subscription accounting topics and related reporting.

• 5+ years of experience in General Ledger Accounting

• Strong technical expertise in HGB and solid IFRS knowledge.

• Experience preparing financial statements and managing audits.

• Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business model.

• Experience with ERP implementations or system transitions.

• Deep understanding of inter-company accounting and consolidation processes.

• Fluency in German and English.

• Having a strong ownership mindset and accountability for full accounting areas
