General Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our newly created Global Business Service (GBS) Centre in Warsaw, Poland. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to setting up the regional finance function as BeOne builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting and statutory topics across various countries, with particular focus on supporting last-mile close and statutory requirements. The incumbent must bring strong US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge, hands-on SAP experience (S/4HANA a strong plus), and practical exposure to mature SSC/GBS environments. Strong communication, cultural sensitivity and collaborative spirit are required to work closely with the Entity Controller, the existing team and the wider EMEA Controllers group, as well as colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia. As a valuable resource to the organization, the incumbent is proactive and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment in a hybrid work model.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Preparing GL entries in SAP, to record all relevant transactions on a daily basis, and taking ownership of diverse closing activities to ensure all activities listed in our closing checklist are properly and timely recorded in our books
  • Prepare and support local statutory filings and last-mile close activities, ensuring timely, accurate and well-documented submissions in line with local requirements
  • Daily input of bank statement entries for designated accounts into SAP, ensuring accurate and timely allocation of cash
  • Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, ensuring appropriate backup in place to support balances and resolve any reconciling or overdue items in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Assist with SOX compliance, internal audit and external audit requests, ensuring clear documentation and timely follow-up on open items.
  • Support monthly payroll accounting through reconciliation of payroll entries and payments, without direct ownership of payroll processing
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Miscellaneous projects as they arise.
  • Provide strong US GAAP, local GAAP and statutory audit support, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations and documentation required by local auditors and controllers.

Education Required: Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor’s Degree

Computer Skills:   SAP S/4 Hana, Blackline, Ariba, Excel, Power BI, Concur, Workday, on-line banking

Other Qualifications:   

  • Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor degree with minimum 5 years of Accounting experience
  • Experience in a multinational finance environment, ideally within life sciences/pharma, with exposure to mature SSC/GBS operating models and local statutory accounting requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP 4 Hana, Blackline)
  • Experience in transitions of a GL process into a SSC/GBS, including stabilizing processes, strengthening controls and supporting last-mile close activities
  • Willingness to work in an evolving functional environment with the abilities to adapt to and address competing priorities
  • Willingness to execute daily transactional accounting tasks; desire to work in a fast paced, changing (currently unstructured) environment in a hybrid work model
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret reconciliations, identify root causes and drive timely resolution of open items.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity, excellent spoken/written English;

Salary Range Poland: 146,800.00 PLN - 183,500.00 PLN
