As part of an organisational project, this position will play a key role in ensuring consistency and compliance for IFRS, statutory accounting and tax compliance. The Senior General Accountant will focus on maximizing General Accounting process performance, mitigating risks, and anticipating changes of regulations for accounting and tax environment of EUROAPI subsidiaries in France. The role is instrumental in contributing to operational and compliance projects within EUROAPI Group Finance department.
Key responsibilities for the Role:

- Daily transactions: Processing of all daily transactions in IFRS accounting, such as bank accounting, assets commissioning or scrapping, Manual Journal Entries posting, …
- Monthly and annual transactions: Processing of all transactions in statutory accounting, tax compliance and tax reporting, including quarterly and yearly closing entries relevant to local accounts.
- Closing documentation: Processing and ensuring the correct preparation of the closing documentation and correct documentary evidence of the accounts. Performing the following controls (not exhaustive list):
- Fixed assets reconciliation for statutory accounts and follow up of tax values;
- Reconciliation of trade payable and trade receivable accounts;
- Follow up of doubtful customers and provisions;
- Bank reconciliations monitoring control;
- Reconciliation of closing positions for accounts related to payroll and social charges;
- Monitoring controls Intragroup balances (closing positions and flows) reconciliations;
- Financial statements: Preparation of yearly statutory financial statements including notes and disclosures as well as corporate tax returns.
- Tax compliance: Preparing, coordinating and submitting tax returns and processing all related payments in relation with all taxes (which includes for instance corporate tax, VAT, business taxes, property taxes, statistical filings), except for customs duties.
- Deferred taxes: Monitoring the deferred taxes calculations and temporary differences, taxable income and tax expense calculations on quarterly basis. Ensuring that all tax reporting disclosures are accurate.
- Audit: Supporting the internal, statutory and/or external audits process for the entities in scope.
- Reporting Packages: Processing of the French reporting packages in the Consolidation tool (BFC) on monthly basis
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to the continuous improvement of General Accounting process and internal control, relevant financial reports, key metrics and contributing to the automatization of control methodologies.
- Quality checks: Ensuring quality checks and review of the financial data in his/her scope.
- Business partnering:
- Collaborating with central and local teams in managing the monthly and yearly closing processes through transparent information exchanges and controls;
- Supporting other business functions upstream to their processes;
- Providing process expertise to the local Finance teams as required and when needed;
- Contributing to relevant business meetings and providing ad hoc support through accounting and tax compliance expertise, information, analysis, and recommendations;
- Providing reliable analyses to the key stakeholders for the financial data in his/her scope and a support for French CFO for balance sheet analyses, ad-hoc analyses related to accounting, statutory and tax compliance;
Policies and procedures processes:
- Defining change in policies and procedures at country level supporting optimized processes.
- Contributing to Internal Controls definition for processes in scope & formalization of the control methodology, explaining all the relevant controls and instructions for further execution by relevant contributors.
- Supporting activities conducted by external auditors related to internal control.
- Follow up internal control weaknesses highlighted by external auditors, ensure adequate action plans have been defined, follow up implementation for the activities in scope.

Expected skills
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting and Tax compliance (CPA or equivalent)
- Organizational skills such as the ability to drive, take ownership, coordinate, and consolidate input from multiple stakeholders
- Flexible team player, proactive
- Building partnership and trust over time with key stakeholders
- Advance analytical skills to work with Excel, Power BI
- Good command of accounting (especially French Gaap) and strong knowledge of ERP software SAP (FICO, AA, …), tax compliance & reporting tools
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in French, and Professional English (advantageous)
