The role and mission:

What you will do:
Lead AI initiatives end to end, from early concept and prototyping through to production-ready solutions
Help shape technical direction on projects, contributing to design choices and supporting the path from idea to implementation
Build practical AI applications that address real business problems and deliver measurable value
Work closely with colleagues across our Dublin and international Innovation teams, while also having scope to take initiative and contribute your own ideas
Work in an Agile environment where you can contribute ideas, experiment, learn quickly, and see the impact of your work
Stay hands-on with the latest AI tools, models, and techniques, with ongoing opportunities to learn, test, and evolve continuously
Help shape and strengthen how we build AI, including best practices in prompt engineering, experimentation, evaluation, and solution design

What you will need to have:
- Strong software engineering experience, with the depth and judgment expected in a senior-level role
- Experience building and delivering production-grade applications
- Deep hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript development, including frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Solid backend experience with Node.js, NestJS, or similar technologies
- Experience using Python to build AI-powered workflows, integrations, or applications
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and integrating AI into real-world products and business processes
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt design, tool use, structured outputs, and application orchestration
- Experience with RAG, retrieval pipelines, embeddings, and knowledge-grounded AI systems
- Familiarity with modern agent patterns, multi-step workflows, and tool-connected AI systems
- Good understanding of AWS, Kubernetes, and the infrastructure required to deploy and scale AI applications
- Experience with monitoring and observability for production AI applications, with an understanding of how to track performance, reliability, and system health
- Strong communication skills, a practical and thoughtful approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively across engineering and business teams
