About us:

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on YouTube. Our channel has over 18 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

About the Role

Glitch Productions is expanding into games, and we’re looking for a Senior Games Engineer to help develop original games based on our IP. Working closely with leadership, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining game systems, implementing features, solving technical challenges, and contributing to the overall development of our games using Unreal Engine. On a small, growing team, you'll contribute across gameplay, systems, and tools.

This is a hands-on role focused on creating high-quality experiences and contributing to the technical foundations of our projects. As part of Glitch’s growing games team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on games from early development through launch while shaping the future of our interactive experiences backed by Glitch’s established IP portfolio with a massive global fanbase. Our games team collaborates across Australia and the Americas, so this role requires consistent working-hours overlap with both regions.

Applications from Canada, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand are especially encouraged.

What You'll Do

  • Developing and maintaining game systems, features, and functionality using Unreal Engine 5.
  • Collaborating with leadership, creatives, and fellow developers to implement gameplay and technical requirements.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues throughout development.
  • Optimizing game performance and stability across target platforms.
  • Contributing to technical design discussions and helping identify effective solutions to development challenges.
  • Integrating assets, systems, and tools into the game pipeline.
  • Participating in code reviews and maintaining engineering best practices.
  • Supporting the development process from prototype through release.
  • Assisting with testing, bug fixing, and ongoing iteration to ensure a high-quality player experience.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of professional game development experience or a similar role.
  • Expertise in developing games in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of game systems, architecture, and development best practices.
  • Experience implementing gameplay features and technical systems from concept to completion.
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for games and creating high-quality player experiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience shipping games on PC, console, or mobile platforms.
  • Experience developing multiplayer or online game systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Perforce or Git.
  • Experience optimizing game performance and memory usage.
  • Experience building tools, pipelines, or workflows to support development teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or similar development methodologies.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude with a passion for making things.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to help build games based on globally recognized IP with a passionate fanbase.
  • Close collaboration with leadership and the game teams.
  • Fully remote, open internationally.
  • The chance to help shape the technical foundations of Glitch's growing games team.
  • The chance to help build something genuinely new, with the creative and commercial foundation already in place.
